WHY USE A DIARY CARD?

I have always found that DBT cannot be even started without a diary card.  YOU WILL NOT THINK ABOUT THE SKILLS AT FIRST UNLESS YOU ARE FORCED TO.  Also, it is a great opportunity to review what your current state of mind is and to look at skills to use which can eventual go towards the behavior chaining (a way of identifying how triggers lead to actions and how dbt can help shortcut these actions).
